Probate Disputes

Difficulties can frequently arise in the event of a person dying Intestate (without having made a Will). There may be a dispute between certain family members or close friends who feel that the rules of intestacy do not provide for adequate financial provision.

Ideally, everybody would make a Will. Despite a person having made a Will, disputes can still arise. This could be in respect of the interpretation or understanding of the Will. It could be that there is a dispute between certain family member, or close friends, as to whether or not adequate financial provision has been made.

In these, or similar other circumstances, it may be that either the individual or the Estate will require specialist Legal advice in an attempt to resolve this matter.

These types of dispute are potentially complicated and consequently specialist advice should be sought. In addition, such disputes normally arise at times of great stress (following the loss of a loved one). Therefore, it is important that any such dispute can be resolved quickly and without any further unnecessary worry or stress to any of the parties.

At Poole Alcock LLP, we do specialise in handling these types of disputes.

The Head of Department is Philip Harrison, who is based at our Nantwich Office.
