Commercial/Contractual Disputes

Philip Harrison, who is based at our Nantwich Office, specialises in commercial litigation.

Disputes can frequently arise following the termination of a lease/tenancy. There may be an issue as to arrears of rent or, in particular, the state of repair/condition of the property at the end of the tenancy (dilapidations).

It may be that the tenant would wish to apply for a new lease for the premises. It may be that the landlord wishes to obtain possession of the premises.

There may be disputes between the landlord and the tenant regarding the terms of the lease, for example obligations to repair the interior or the exterior.

There could be a dispute between two businesses regarding, for example, the sale of goods or the supply of services. It may require the interpretation of a written contract or establishing the terms of a verbal contract.

Contractual disputes could include issues relating to the sale/purchase of certain goods. The buyer may not be satisfied with the goods (for example their quality, date of delivery etc). The seller may not have received payment.

There could be a dispute between partners in a business, for example relating to the division of profits, or ultimately the dissolution of the partnership.

Such matters require specialist expert legal advice.

Philip Harrison, who is based at our Nantwich Office, is Head of the Department and has considerable experience in this field. Either, or a member of his team, should be able to help.
