Poole Alcock LLP are runners up in the St George’s Day Quiz on 23rd April 2012
A team of 4 Solicitors from Poole Alcock LLP attended the St George’s Day Quiz at Residence in Nantwich for a quiz night on 23rd April 2012.
The event was organised by BCR-Insolvency www.bcr-insolvency.co.uk and raised money for St Lukes Hospice, Cheshire www.stlukes- hospice.co.uk/
The event was a great success, with all participants receiving a meal courtesy of Residence and a chance to enter a fantastic raffle with all proceeds going to St Lukes.
What started out as a light hearted competition where the team’s main goal was to have fun and not come last, soon turned into something more competitive when ‘The Mill Street Runners’ (as we decided to call ourselves) took an early lead thanks to Mr Charles Smalley’s incomparable knowledge in the history round.
We soon discovered that we had a secret weapon in Charles and tried to maintain our early lead throughout the following rounds.
Unfortunately we were let down in the music round as our 70s glam rock knowledge escaped us; however we thought we may have pulled back an advantage after the geography and current affairs rounds.
Sadly it wasn’t to be and ‘The Mill Street Runners’ fell at the last, losing by half a point and the shiny trophy was snatched out of our hands until next year…
