Royal Charter for Legal Executives
25 January 2012
On 12th October 2011 the Queen in Council approved the Institute of Legal Executives’ application for Royal Charter.
This means that, with effect from 30th January 2012, all practising Fellows of the Institute of Legal Executives are able to use the title Chartered Legal Executive.
The news of Ilex’s Royal Charter has been greeted with acclaim across the legal profession and Justice Minister Lord McNally, commented that “Being a member of a chartered profession marks a person out instantly as being highly skilled, dedicated and well regarded in their field”.
The main purpose of seeking a Royal Charter was to give further assurances to the public, and clients of Poole Alcock LLP can have confidence that they are being represented by members of an organisation with high standards in qualification, regulation and representation
Here at Poole Alcock LLP we currently employ several members of staff who are members of ILEX, with Fellows Gillian Collins and Tracy McVeigh in our Conveyancing Department being the first to have the privilege of being Chartered Legal Executives.
Susan McKee (Conveyancing) Kate Heath (Private Client) and Serena Mawson (Crime) are all Graduate Members who will become Fellows and therefore Chartered Legal Executives later this year.
