Settlement Agreement – Do Not Sign Your Rights Away!

Settlement Agreements used to be called Compromise Agreements. They come about when an employer and employee agree to part company in exchange for a payment made to the employee.

Do not immediately accept the first offer. Often the amount in the Settlement Agreement is not correct and given the circumstances should be more.

At Poole Alcock Solicitors we won’t advise you to simply sign the Settlement Agreement without first reviewing it and considering whether you are entitled to more.

We have had a lot of success in recent years increasing the amount offered by the Employer and getting you more money.

Our employment law experts are able to look at your situation and will be able to advise you as to whether or not you should be asking for more. We will then manage the negotiation process for you by getting in touch with your employer and arguing for increased compensation depending upon the issues.

As an employee faced with a Settlement Agreement it is very important that you do not feel pressurized by the employer to sign quickly. This is often a tactic that is used to stop you taking the time to consider your options.
