In the modern world, “on-demand” services are everywhere. Service providers now need to ensure that their services are still of a quality standard and a competitive price, but also that they’re instantly available.
Blow, the beauty app has been providing on-demand beauty services, from hair and make-up to pilates classes, in London since its launch in 2013. It is now looking to expand.
As well as poaching an executive from Just Eat, Blow has recently raised £3.5m to fund its expansion into Birmingham and Manchester.
The success of apps such as Uber and Just Eat, suggest that convenience is now paramount to the consumer looking for a taxi or a takeaway. Does that extend to beauty treatments, or do we still place a value on the social interactions we enjoy when we go to the beautician or the hairdresser? We may be about to find out.
