In our weekly look into the world of business, Eve Lakin from our Corporate & Commercial department, takes a look at Uber’s next venture…

Jeff Holden, Product Chief at Uber, is promising that flying cars will be hitting the skies in the next decade. A summit is to be held in Dallas this week where the latest news on air-borne cars will be revealed.

Uber is teaming up with the likes of Airbus and Embraer to bring together the technology, infrastructure and regulation required to make this transportation dream, a reality.

Uber launched in San Francisco in 2011 allowing riders to electronically hail a luxury black cab. Since then the company has broadened its offering to include mainstream taxi services and helicopter flights. In December last year it launched a self-driving car.

Uber hasn’t been without its critics in recent times, but its latest move is yet another reminder that to stay ahead in business you have to fly with the times!
