Back to News and EventsUber is planning to expand its “Uber Eats” food delivery service in Britain, adding a further 100 towns and cities and doubling the 36,000 restaurants it already serves.
This is a clear signal of intent to threaten its main competitor, Deliveroo, which Uber had previously been in talks to buy.
As well as increasing its coverage, Uber is looking to innovate the industry, entering talks with a number of councils over setting up “virtual restaurants” in vacant high street shops.
These are aggressive expansion plans from Uber – time will tell whether their eyes are bigger than their belly!
