On 14th May 2016, Poole Alcock’s Sarah Vickers will be raising money for St Luke’s Hospice, with her daughter, by participating in this years 5k bubblerush run. This is a family friendly run involving running through 5ft walls of bubbles of different colours at various points of the course. Sarah and her daughter will be taking part in the yellow wave at Oulton Park, getting sprayed with and running through yellow bubbles.
St Luke’s Hospice cares for people with life threatening illnesses, treating and supporting them with a wide spectrum of experience. It cares for those who need St Luke’s expertise in nursing and medical care as well as their holistic approach to life. As there is no charge for their services they need to raise on average £8,6000 a day to ensure that the vital care and services can be provided to people in mid and south Cheshire.
The last bubblerush which took at place over Christmas helped to raise an eye-popping £12,000 with over 400 participants taking on the run in bubbly snow.
Sarah decided to participate in the summer charity run for a number of reasons, the first of which was due to St Luke’s being Poole Alcock’s chosen charity to support. Sarah told us, ‘I enjoy participating in fundraising events and try to do this annually, my daughter has recently taken a keen interest in fundraising as well, which made the bubblerush run a perfect event for the both of us to participate in.’
Sarah and her daughter are currently training a couple of times a week together and see it as a great way to get fit as well as help to make a difference to people’s lives.
If you would like to help Sarah and her daughter by donating money to St Luke’s then this can be done via their Just Giving page. Please click here to be taken to their page.
If you would like to participate in the event, or if you want any further information then please contact Jane Thompson, at St Luke’s Hospice, on jane_thompson@stlukes-hospice.co.uk.
