The 25th May 2018 and the dawn of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) had echoes of the Millennium Bug. Many people were predicting a data protection apocalypse with businesses unable to operate for fear of breaching the new EU Directive.
It is fair to say that the GDPR has not been as cataclysmic as expected (just as planes didn’t fall out of the sky as the 90s drew to a close). However, the impact of the GDPR has been significant for many businesses not least because the public are better informed of their rights on data protection and therefore are more likely to make a complaint.
Whilst most businesses do not require a full time data protection team, many would benefit from advice on handling any data protection issues from a professional that understands the business’ needs. If your business would benefit from in-house style legal support (on a variety of matters including data protection) without the full time cost then Poole Alcock LLP’s Business Assist package may be for you.
For a monthly subscription you will receive ongoing support on the following areas: corporate and commercial, commercial property and commercial litigation. Further details are available here or please contact the Business Services Team on 01270 625478.
